Kids Room Buying Tips
- When planning storage solutions consider how much closed and / or open storage is required
- Is cupboard space more useful than drawer space?
- If space is at a premium for opening doors are sliding doors worthy of consideration?
- Reduced depth wardrobes generally do not allow clothes to hang from left to right. However a pull-out “trombone rail” can be specified to allow for items to hang from back to front
- Double short hanging (with one hanging rail fixed above another) in a wardrobe is useful for hanging shorter items because it makes the best possible use of the space available
- Short hanging or shelving above drawers is also worth considering as is short hanging below shelves
- Shaped end wardrobes can “soften” the appearance of a run of wardrobes, for example next to a room entrance or in a window area
- Does the room need to contain a desk and desk chair?
- Is it possible to use open shelving above the desk?
- Is integrated lighting required? Lighting can be specified for most ranges either in the form of integrated lights or for possibly forward protruding lighting used on wardrobe cornices or shelving systems
- How flexible in design do the items specified need to be?
